Rain, Rain and more Rain.

Rain has come to the Sacramento Valley once again, and summer is officially over and in comes's the winter. So lets see what has happened in the last month or so. I went Deer hunting with mike from Work and was not successful once again this year. I have been relining on Mike naibors how have hunt in Nor Cal. a lot longer then Mike and I. you would think that they would know some good areas to go to. They had all decided to go to an area called Meadow lake which is just north of Trukee. The camp there a lot durning the summer and know the area well. Mike drove up on Thursday and I drove up on Friday. When I got there, there was a ton of people camping there and Hunting as well. Opening weekend was a little scary with so many people out, I Made sure to ware as much hunter Orange as I could get my hands on. With so many people there, their was way to much presser on the deer and they were not moving at all. I did see any deer for the first three days. I started to ask the other guys in the group if they had had any success in this area and come to find out none of them had kill anything at all annoyware in Cal. so I have decided to do my own scouting this summer and find an area that I think will work or not even put in for a tag next year and go Elk hunt with Dad next year. I was vary disappointed in the trip. I can home on Tuesday and spent a few days with Trisha and had a wonderful couple of days at home with her. I had convinced her to go back to meadow lake with me and the Pup's. At first she didn't want to but she got excited about taking the Pup's camping. We drove up on Friday and got our tent set up just in time for the rain to set in and once it started it didn't stop. It rained and rained and rained. We went to bed around 7:00 pm because of the rain. We put the Dogs in our sleeping bags because it was a bit on the cold side at night and they don't have a lot of hair to keep them warm. It was a long night with little sleep for me and I'm sure Trisha didn't sleep much either. We got up early in the morring and it was still rain so I put Trisha and the Puppy's in the truck and broke camp in the rain, as did the other guys that where up there with us. On the way out of Meadow lake we were flagged down by another truck and told that there was and RV stuck in the mud on the road out and we would not be able to go around them. We drove back to the camp to relay the info to the others still packing up there stuff. and waited for a while and tyred to figger out another way out. There where other roads in and out of the lake but they were in bad shape and anyone pulling a trailer or did not have a big 4X4 could not drive them and make it out. I did not want to risk getting stuck with Trisha and the dogs with me so that was out of the question( Trisha gets nerves driving down a gravel road so 4wheeling was not going to happen). After about an hour we drove back to were this RV was to be stuck at. It had gotten out but left a huge muddy mess Trisha called Mike and told him it was clear and we drove out and waited in a parking lot not far from Hwy 89 for everyone. It was defiantly one of those trips that we wont forget and can laugh about now.

In other new my back is not doing vary well. I'm having terrible pains in my back and down my left leg. My pain Doctor has been giving me more and more med to try and help but I am not getting much better. They want me to see a Nero Surgeon to see if they can take the pressure off the nerve in my back but it is taking so long. The first consult got cancelled by the other Doctor that works at the pain clinic I go to. I don't like him vary well he did the shoot in my back a year ago and then wanted to experiment on me with one of his new toyed he had never used. I didn't like that at all and told him NO. If he See's me in the waiting room and he will grab me and talk to me instead of letting me see the normal person that I have been working with. When he did this last time I was in he really screewed up my referral and messed up my meds. So last time I was in he tried again and I told him No I did not want to see him that Chris was handling it for me not him. He came back and said that he was the Doc and see was a nurse proctioner. I told him I didn't care who he was or was not She was handling my case and I no longer wanted to be see by him. He was not happy about it but I don't care, he messes everything up ever time I see him, and I am tired of it. Chris kept apologising but I told her it's not her fault and I will not see him anymore. She resubmitted the consult for me. The surgeon called and I wont see him for a month, he had no appointment until 2 Dec so for know it's more Drugs and pain. I was hoping to have the surgery if that's what will help durning Dec sense we have Vacation shedualed for Christmas already. I would just tack on another week or two and not worry about work and teaching sense there no classes in Dec. but how know if or when I'll be able to do it know.

Well that's enough winning for today.

It's that time of the year again!

Fall is in the air here in the Sacramento Vally once again. Its hard to believe Summer is over, it fells like it just started not to long ago. I guess being in Florida for six weeks really shortened it up for me. With Fall comes hunting season and I can not wait to get out in the woods. I leave this Friday to go Hunting with a Friend of mine from Work. He and I hunted together last year and we had a great time together. I was not sure if I would like hunting in Cal. or not. I had always Hunted with my Dad and Brother in Oregon and last year was the first time I had really hunted with out them. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it as much with out them, but I had a great time and am looking forward to this year.

Things at home are going well, Trisha had a job interview last Friday with a privet school not far from my office, and is waiting for a call back. I got our pellet stove put in the house last weekend, I wanted to get in before I left for the woods just Incas it turns cold on Trisha. It was a little harder to get in then the last house do to a smaller fireplace in our new place. The dogs are doing well and in good heath. Trisha and I have both been having Back troubles as of late. Mine started in Florida with just have more and more discomfort and having pains down my leg again. I haven't had pain in my leg sense we moved to Cal. form Guam. My Doctor is changing my meds, taking me off Morphine and Perceste and moving to Methadone and hydromoraphone. It doesn't seam to be helping to much but I've only just started. My Doctor wants me to go see a surgeon to see if I'm a candidate for back surgery or not, at this point if there is a chance the back surgery help help me get back to a some what normal life again I am willing to try it. I just so tried of being in pain all the time and I hate taking so many pill. There will come a time when the pills wont work and then were will I be. Trisha took a spill down the stairs a while ago and has had a sore back ever sense. She will go she her Doctor this week to mack sure there is nothing really hurt. So we are quite the pare hurt backs and all.

Well I had better get back to work. I hope everyone is well and in good heath.

I'm Back and it's good to be home

So I haven't posted in a long while, and I have no excuses for it, and I'm not going to give you one other then I've been lazy and haven't felt like doing it! So there now you have it. I have just gotten back from a long work trip to Florida. I was there for about 6 weeks training the Florida National Guard in some military equipment. I had so many problems there that it isn't even funny. Every thing from equipment braking down or not working to Staffing problems and people trying to but in and take over the class from me, on and on and on..... But I did the best I could do with what I had to work with and got the job done. I did take some time and did some fun things like I went to a Nascar race at the Daytona speed way and had a blast. It is so cool to see the car in real life and hear them just be a part of the hole Nascar experience. It is so much different being there then it is watching it on TV. It was a surreal experience. I went down to Orlando one day and spent the hole day at Universal studios theme park. It was fun and I had a good time. I got to see some great movies dunning my stay, like the Dark Knight, and Iron man.

It's hard not to get home sick after a while of being away from your family, I really try ed to work with Trisha on communicating more while I'm gone. It has been a problem in the past that she wont want to talk to me when I call her, it would irritate the hell out of me when she would do that. Now granted I would call her every day and not just to talk but more to just hear her voice and see how she was doing. But this time I backed off a little and let her call me. I would still call her if I hadn't heard from her for a couple of days. I guess it went OK?

I had some time to think about all the days I had been away from Trisha sense we first got together 11 years ago and came up with about 2 years of separation. I got to thinking to myself that that was way to long to be apart. Hopefully I will not have to go on any more of these long trips, but you never know.

I got home last Thursday early in the mooring and Trisha picked me up at the Airport she had brought the Dogs with her and they were excited to see me as I was to see them. We got home and I unpacked my closhes and sat and talk with Trisha for a while before going to bed and taking a short nap sense we had both been up all night. It was a good home coming no fighting or arguing for a change. I never know what I'll get when I get home some time it can be a little ugly but this time it was great we where both vary happy to see each other and truly did miss each other. We spent all of the weekend together and had a great time. We went to our friend house for dinner on Saturday and got hair cut's and played with there two Little girl's. It felt really good to home at last.

On another note my in laws are coming into town this week for a visit. It should be a great time, we always have fun when Trisha Mom and Dad, and Aunts and Uncles come in for a visit. This will be for the most of them the first time to see our new place. Trisha has some fun thing planed for everyone and I will hopefully be taking all who are interested in going, up to the shooting range behind Beale Air Force base for a morning of shooting, Trisha's uncle Stu, and cousin Coley both sound interested in it so will see.

Well I should get back to work, hope to see y'all soon.

If you Dont laugh at this never come back here again!

My dad sent me this email today and it is the funnest thing I have read in a long time.

I went grocery shopping recently while not being altogether sure that course of action was a wise one. You see, the previous evening I had prepared and consumed a massive quantity of my patented "You're definitely going to shit yourself" chili. Tasty stuff, albeit hot to the point of beingpainful, which comes with a written guarantee from me that if you eat the nextday both of your ass cheeks WILL fall off. Here's the thing. I had awakened that morning, and even after two cups of coffee (and all of you know what I mean) nothing happened. No"Watson's Movement 2". Despite habanera peppers swimming their way through my intestinal tract, I appeared to be unable to create the usual morning symphony referred to by my next door neighbors as thunder and lightning. Knowing that a time of reckoning had to come, yet not sure of just when, I bravely set off for the market; a local Wal-Mart grocery store that I often haunt in search of tasty tidbits. Upon entering the store at first all seemed normal. I selected a cart and began pushing it about dropping items in for purchase. It wasn't until I was at the opposite end of the store from the restrooms that the pain hit me. Oh, don't look at me like you don't know what I'm talking about I'm referring to that "Uh oh, gotta go" pain that always seems to hit us at the wrong time. The thing is, this pain was different. The habaneras in the chili from the night before were staging a revolt. In a mad rush for freedom they bullied their way through the small intestines, forcing their way into the large intestines, and before I could take one step in the direction of the restrooms which would bring sweet relief, it happened. The peppers fired a warning shot. There I stood, alone in the spice and baking aisle, suddenly enveloped in a noxious cloud the likes of which has never before been recorded. I was afraid to move for fear that more of this vile odor might escape me. Slowly, oh so slowly, the pressure seemed to leave the lower part of my body, and I began to move up the aisle and out of it, just as an elderly woman turned into it. I don't know what made me do it, but I stopped to see what her reaction would be to the malodorous effluvium that refused to dissipate, as she walked into it unsuspecting. Have you ever been torn in two different directions emotionally? Here's what I mean, and I'm sure some of you at least will be able to relate. I could've warned that poor woman but didn't. I simply watched as she walked into an invisible, and apparently indestructible, wall of odor so terrible that all she could do before gathering her senses and running, was to stand there blinking and waving her arms about her head as though trying to ward off angry bees. This, of course, made me feel terrible, but then made me laugh. Mistake. Here's the thing. When you laugh, it's hard to keep things "clampeddown", if you know what I mean. With each new guffaw an explosive issue burst forth from my nether region. Some were so loud and echoing that I was later told a few folks in other aisles had ducked, fearing that someone was robbing the store and firing off a shotgun. Suddenly things were no longer funny. IT was coming, and I raced off through the store towards the restrooms, laying down a cloud the whole way, praying that I'd make it before the grand mal assplosion took place. Luck was on my side. Just in the nick of time I got to the john, began the inevitable "Oh my God", floating above the toilet seat because my ass is burning SO BAD, purging. One poor fellow walked in while I was in the middle of what is the true meaning of "Shock and Awe". He made a gagging sound, and disgustedly said, "Sonofabitch!", then quickly left. Once finished I left the restroom, reacquired my partially filled cart intending to carry on with my shopping when a store employee approached me and said, "Sir, you might want to step outside for a few minutes. It appears some prankster set off a stink bomb in the store. The manager is going to run the vent fans on high for a minute or two which ought to take care of the problem." That of course set me off again, causing residual gases to escape me. The employee took one sniff, jumped back pulling his shirt up to cover his nose and, pointing at me in an accusing manner shouted, "IT'S YOU!", then ran off returning moments later with the manager. I was unceremoniously escorted from the premises and asked none too kindly not to return. Home again without having shopped, I realized that there was nothing to eat but leftover chili, so I consumed two more bowls. The next day I went to shop at Albertson's. I can't say anymore about that because we are in court over the whole matter. Bastards claim they're going to have to repaint the store...

Time for an update!

After being told by several people that I need and update to my blog, here I am on the blog and don't know what to talk about. How about get an update about whats going in my life. April is here and almost over, it sure seams to be going by so fast. Last week was a down week for me at work meaning I have no students in class, and I can tell you I am glad about that this last class I did, I taught most of it because my co worker I teach with took some Leave and had to go out of town on a business trip and that left me to do the teaching. I was really wiped out by the end of class. I do have to say that I was really dragging ass this last class for some reason. Maybe it was stress from Trisha or money or our house, or just all of it together. Who's to say?

On another note Trisha seems to be doing better, she is still sleeps a lot but there is a change in her attitude, a little more happy a little more up in her sprites and that in my mind is a good sign. The Puppy's are good as always, Missie has been looking after Trisha while she was sick for the last couple of weeks she has been right by her side all day. I guess it goes to show how in tune are pets are with us. I did load the pups up in the truck and took them with me to the shooting range be hide Beale AFB. They seams to like the ride and didn't mind all the gun fire going on. Needless to say they where happy to come home and see there momma.

I did have a talk with Trisha about our house and the fact that we will have to start looking for a new place to live. She did not like hearing what I said but the fact is we will be losing this home vary some and I would rather be ready for it then be caught blind sided and have to rush to get out of here. She still has hope that we will be able to save are home and told me she had called someone to see if they could help us out. I just don't fell like there is any hope an saving this place but will let her try. I would like to start looking for a place as soon as her disability money starts coming in. I have been looking online at some rentals and there some nice places in my prise range close to where I work. It will be nice to live close to work and not have to drive so far every day to work, and be closer to so old friend again. I also think a change of scenery would be good for Trisha and help her move on from what ever it is that has her down. Before she stoped working one of her complaints was the commute from home to work and back. So maybe this will help. Don't get me wrong I would do anything to keep this home but I just don't see it happing.

Well I hope that that's enough of an update for know......(beef).....More to come later on.

It's hot in Phoenix, and cool in Sacramento.

I returend home from my trip to Phoenix to visit my Grandmother and her husbend Dale who is not my Grandfather. To bring you up to speed on things My Grandfather died in 2002 wi'll I was deployed to Okinawa. I was able to fly home to the funneral and visit my family. A few years later, she remarried Dale a man she meet in here winter home of Mesa Az. I did not like the Idea of this and really havent spokin to her sence she remarried. I did not like the idea of her with another man and the fact that she had changed her last name from Culpepper to Kunze. My dad and I had felt the same about the hole thing and felt as if she had discraced my grandfather and all they had bilt together over 60 years together. She sold ther home in Mesa and had bought a new home with Dale. She did not come back to Oregon for the summer insted she would go to Minnasota with Dale to his home. I had asked her for some things of my Grandfather and she would not give them to me. So I stoped talking to her and really did not want anything to do with her anymore. Over time my dad had made peace with her but I was not ready to do so. A few weeks ago she and Dale were in a vary saver car wrecke and she was not well. My folks had told me they were going to fly down and see her last week. I had decide it was time for me to make peace and decided I should go with them. I was vary unsher of how I would handle being around her and Dale but figered with Mom and Dad there it would be a little easyer to handle. My grandmaother is still in a recovery center not far from ware they livr in Mesa she is still in bad shape but getting better. Dale is a vary nice man and I could see he really care's for my Grandmother and wants whats best for her and is not trying to take over for my grandfather. It was good for me to see. The weather was HOT and I mean Hot. they do not use AC in there home and keep it vary warm all year which was hard on me, I tend to like it cool because my med's tend to make me sweat alot in the heat. I didn't sleep vary well on there coach and have been sore all weekend. I was vary happy to see my bed when I got home today. Well it back to work in the morring so I'm off to bed.

Monday, Monday

Another week down and now it's monday. I had a nice weekend at home tfor a change. I really dont know what happend on Sat, I went to bed Fri night about 10 or 11 o'clock and didn't get up untill 3:30 Saterday after noon. It dosent evan feel like it happend. But I do fell better today, I'm not as tired as of late. Trisha and had talk about getting new phone sence our contract was up and at&t had been sending offers for new phones to resing with them. So after I got up and showerd trisha and I went off to Yuba city to look at what they had. I had forgot the email they sent me about a nice smartphone that I did some reaserch on and thought it would be nice. We got there right as they were closing but got in and talk to a sales rep. I told her what I wanted and she asked for the email but I did'nt have and she would not take my word on it so we didn't and new phone's or serve deal. We went over to nextel but they were closed so we went home and hung out for the night.

Trisha got up early on Sunday for a meeting I stayed home and sleept. I heared her get back and got up and dressed and ask her if she wanted to go back to Yuba city to wheel and deal on some phones she said know and that I know what she like so to go ahaed and go. I thought I would go back to Nextel to see what they had to offer for a family plan. I was really interested in the walky talky phone's so I could get aholed of Trisha with our calling. I looked at some phones and found one I liked but the prises were really high. A sales rep came up I told hime what I was looking at and he brought the price way down on both phones and said I could get a 25% discount on my monthly bill for working with DOD so said and done I got the phones for about $150 for both phones and a plane better then what I had for less money. I was pretty happy with it so far, I'm have a hard time getting use to the new phone, It's a lot bigger then my razor was. But should talk the abouse better I hope?

I'm leave for Mesa on thurseday to see my Grandmother who was in a really bad car wrecke a few weeks ago. I havent seeing her or talked to her really sence grandpa died 6 years ago and am not realy looking forward to seeing her. I'm still a little mad at her for remarring so soon after his death. My Dad seams to have made peace with it so I guess I should to. My Mom and Dad are flying out tuseday morring and I will meet up with them on thurseday night after work, and come home on Sunday Morring.

Work is busy right know Bob has been gone for a few day but will be back tomarrow then he'll leave for a class in GA. fortwo week which leave me all alone to teach. Normaly this wouldn't be a problem but I had two students get in a fieght today and had to brake it up. Afterr I let the class go to lunch I had them stay with the class leader and chewed there but out for being stupid. I't realy made me mad that they did that. I dont have time to babysit the people andtry and teach them at the same time.

Any how thats a enof for today.

A day at the VA

After an extremely long week and weekend at work. I finely took a day off from work to spend the day at home with Trisha. I also had an appointment with the VA today as well. All though I didn’t sleep vary well last night and in to the morning because I was out of med’s and took my last morphing pill on Sunday at noon I didn’t fell vary well this morning and was having a lot of pain both, back and withdraw pain. I forced myself out of bed and on to the coach about 0800 and watch some of the shows I had on the DVR but haven’t been able to watch do to Kristi in town to be with Trisha, and the fact that I’ve been just wiped out from work. On the way to the VA hospital I was listing to my I pod and the song that were playing were really hitting home to me for some reason they were all song I had heard before but for some reason I was really able to relate to what they were saying. A trip to the VA is always an eye opening experience for me not so much with the doctors put watching and looking and the people the Vet’s of war’s past and present. As I was waiting for my med there was man in line that caught my eye. He was a much older man in his late to mid 70’s I would guess his wife I’m sure of many years was with him. This man looked to be in good health unlike some of the other Vets there he did not use a walker or a cane. This man caught my eye because of a hat he was wearing it said WWII veteran with a Purple heart on it under Neath the picture of a purple heart it said combat wounded Marine, I thought to myself wow This man has seen combat and lived through it, he has made the best of his life rather then turning to drugs or alcohol like some of the other Vet’s have done. It was very easy for me to see this man 40 or 50 year younger and in uniform. He still wore the high and tight hair cut of a soldier, his hat sat on his head much like a soldier dose, I looked at some of the other people there and tried to imaging what they looked like back when they served, some were harder than others, and some I could see them serving at all. I tried to imaging what they saw and went through. It was easy to relate to what their life was like in the service having served myself I to was called to leave my home and family, my items of comfort if you will, and go to a foreign land ware I was not wanted and even hate for who I was and what I stud for. But luckily I have never served in combat were the law of War was Kill or be Killed. I did not watch my friends die beside me. I did not fire my weapon at another person who I did not know. But these men have! Some more than once in different war’s in different countries ageist an ever changing enemy. Don’t get me wrong I was ready to do those things at a moment’s notes but thank god I never had to. But these men did some by chose and some did not have a chose they were drafted, guess the draftees had a chose as we’ll serve or flee like some did. These men and women are truly what make this country greet and have help keep us free.
It is vary special for me to see these men wearing there veterans hat that display their medals and which branch of serve and with war they had served in. I wanted to talk to these men and share in that bond that soldier share but I couldn't bring myself to get up and talk to them, I don’t know why but I just couldn’t, I felt vary ashamed and I can’t put a finger on why, is it the fact that I’m out of the Army, or the fact that I never so combat? Or is it something else that eats at me, for whatever the reason I couldn’t get off my ass and talk to them. I got to thinking that I should get a hat as well sense I was part of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Noble Eagle. I walk down to where a man sells hats and shirts to Vets in the hospital to see what he had. This man had all kinds of hat for all different wars and branches of serves. I asked him if he had an OEF and ONE hat. He had told me that he had not heard of ONE but did have OEF hats. I bought one and an Army pin to go on it. Then proudly donned my hat and walk out of the VA to go home. I don’t know if buying and wearing a hat will make me feel any better but hopefully by wearing it that same man I saw today can look at it and know we both had served for a ungrateful nation who would rather spite on you rather then shaking your had and saying thank you for your service. And just maybe next time I see him, I can go to him and shake his hand and say thank you. Just maybe.

Please join my in praying of the men and women of the US armed services.
God we ask you to watch over these brave men and women as they are away from there family's and loved one. Be with them in there times of need. Confert there fear and give them the strength to do what is necessary for them to get home. If they are to die so far a way from home then welcome them into your are and tell them Job Well done Soldier, job well done, be at peace, your pain is no more,
Amen
